How Record Limits Are Counted
The free plan holds 3 records at a time, not 3 a month. Deleting one frees the space immediately.

On the free Starter plan you can hold 3 records at a time. Personal and Family Plans are unlimited.
It is not a monthly allowance
The limit is how many records you are holding right now, not how many you have ever uploaded. Delete a record and the space frees up immediately, and you can upload another right away.
So if you upload the wrong file, or a duplicate, you have not permanently lost anything.
These do not count towards the limit:
- Records brought in automatically from a connected health system
- Records on read-only profiles
- Files you keep to a single conversation
What counts as a record
- Each file you upload: a PDF, a photo, a scan, a text file
- Each import you run yourself, such as a FHIR or C-CDA file, counted as one record however much was inside it, including while it is still processing
When you are at the limit
Nothing is deleted, and everything you already have stays visible and usable. What pauses is adding more. You will see a line telling you how many you are holding and what your plan supports.
One thing to note: once every slot is in use, no file of any kind can be added, including one you only wanted to keep to a single conversation. Delete a record you no longer need, or move to a plan without a limit.
