Closing Your Account
How to delete your account from your account page, what happens to a paid plan, and what gets removed.
If you no longer want an Inciteful Med account, you can delete it yourself from your account page. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
How to delete your account
- Sign in at app.incitefulmed.com.
- Open the menu with your name and choose Account & plan (it says Settings if you are not on a plan).
- Scroll to the bottom and click Delete account.
- Type the email address on your account to confirm, then click Delete my account.
You are signed out straight away. The deletion itself finishes in the background, usually within a few minutes.
If you have a paid plan
Deleting your account cancels your plan immediately. The rest of the current billing period is not refunded, and you will not be charged again.
If you only want to stop paying, you do not need to delete your account. See Changing or cancelling your plan. Cancelling a plan keeps your account and data, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
What gets deleted
- Your account and login
- Every patient profile under your account
- Every medical record you uploaded, imported or synced from a health system
- Every conversation and report
- Your literature and clinical trial alerts
- Every shared link you created (they stop working)
What stays
- Anonymized aggregate statistics (counts of questions asked over time, etc.) - these contain nothing identifiable.
- Cached copies that recipients made of any reports you shared - those exist outside our systems.
Just want to clean up some data?
You don't have to delete the whole account.
- Delete a single record: see Deleting a medical record.
- Delete a single thread: see Deleting a research thread.
- Delete a single patient (and everything attached to them): see Deleting a patient profile.
